Well, this was the finale of the Box Turtle Fashion Show. KORTO MOMOLU!! Hopefully, even though I wasn't able to get good photos of every one of her models, she will like them when I give them to her. I hope this is my big photography break!!!

I finally got to do some professional work!! I went to the Box Turtle Fashion Show this weekend in Little Rock, AR. I had been attending the Project Runway Watch Parties with my mother-in-law and she happened to casually mention to one of the designers on the show that I was really good with photography. The designer was Korto Momolu. Korto told me that she did not have an official photographer and if I wanted, that she would love for me to take pictures of her show!! Needless to say, I immediately asked my boss if I could take off for this chance. She let me off and I got my camera ready for this new adventure. I asked Darla (mother-in-law) to go with me so she could share in this occasion. Her husband (Jerry) also went with us. Well, we got there very early and waited to see if we could talk to Korto. She never came out from wherever she and her models were hiding, so it was an all-for-one battle on the horrible seating arrangement. I and my family ended up sitting on the ground, facing the stage at a slight angle. It was a hassle for to shoot my pictures because there were some very excited children in front of me, the lighting was absolutly horrible, and some adults were mad because I kept sitting up to get my pictures. Darla set them straight though lol. Even with all those conditions, I managed to get some really good photos. These photos are from other designers that went before Korto's show.

This picture was the second picture I presented during my college career. Our project was on perspective. When I took the picture, I loved the peacefulness and serenity that this small monument displayed. I wanted this to become more like a dream state. I shot the background out of focus because I wanted attention to be based on the small body.

This was one of my favorite projects while I was in college. I was taking an independant course in photography and we had to think up creative projects to receive grades. I took inspiration from the Starn twins on this particular project. I took two different negatives (that I developed myself) and used them in such a way that shows an underlying theme of friendship. By this time in my photography classes, I basically knew everything that I needed to know about taking and developing photos.
